ASTC 21st Century FundEndowment Funds

Roy L Shafer Endowment Fund, established in 2005 by the ASTC Board of Directors

The ASTC Board of Directors established the Roy L. Shafer Endowment Fund, a permanent endowment, as a tribute to Roy's lifetime of work on behalf of ASTC and science centers and museums worldwide. The purpose of the Fund is to advance extraordinary leadership in the science center and museum field. For the immediate future, the Board will use interest income and earnings from the Fund to support the Roy L. Shafer Leading Edge Awards. The Awards are presented annually to ASTC members and/or their employees in recognition of extraordinary accomplishments in Visitor Experience, Business Practice, and Leadership in the Field that not only enhance the performance of their own institutions but also significantly advance the mission of science-technology centers and museums.

Lee Kimche McGrath Worldwide Endowment Fund, established in 2002 by Lee Kimche McGrath, first executive director of ASTC

Objective:
To increase international members' participation in ASTC activities. Currently, the endowment supports The ASTC Lee Kimche McGrath Worldwide Fellowship which funds participation in the ASTC Annual Conference by individuals from science centers and museums outside the United States. The purpose of the Fellowship is to foster greater understanding among international colleagues and encourage global participation in ASTC.

ASTC General Endowment Fund for Board-Designated Purposes, established in 2005 by the ASTC Board of Directors

Income from the General Endowment will be used for purposes designated by the ASTC Board of Directors.


Seth H. Dubin Fund, established in 1999 by Marilyn C. Hoyt, CEO, New York Hall of Science, in honor of the founding Trustee and President of the New York Hall of Science

Income from the Seth H. Dubin Fund will be used for purposes designed by the ASTC Board of Directors.

About Seth H. Dubin:
Mr. Dubin is of counsel to Satterlee Stephens Burke & Burke LLP. He is engaged in acquisitions and financings of domestic and foreign clients, particularly for technology and other intellectual property companies. Mr. Dubin is the Chairman of the Hebrew Technical Institute, the President Emeritus and a Trustee of the New York Hall of Science, a member of the Engineering Advisory Board of Cooper Union, a Trustee of the Chatham House Foundation, a Trustee of the Industry Leaders Fund, a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Fellow of the Foreign Policy Association. Mr. Dubin attended Columbia College and graduated from Amherst College. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School.
